A new business incubation facility opened for "incubatees" or locators to provide IT professionals an "enabling" environment for technology based business consisting of office space and service at the UPV Cebu College (UPVCC).
The Technology Business Incubation (TBI) Facility at the 3rd Floor, left wing of the Arts and Sciences Building opened its doors to locators last October 2008 immediately after UPVCC signed memorandum of agreement with the Ayala Foundation Inc. (AFI)
Prof. Pauline C. Wade, facility manager of the TBI, said the facility gives the clients an avenue consisting of facilities and services that could help them get started and increase their probability of becoming successful enterprises.
The TBI has a maximum of 10 units, each having a minimum floor area of 34.34 square meters, in phase 1 and plans to accommodate locators in cubicles in phase 2, with monthly rent rates of P400 per square meter. she added. For those locators considered start-ups, the rent will be lower.
The facility also provides internet connectivity, power, water, and security for its locators.
